Selection of Romanian Sculptors

Sculptors and their works have interested me since my early high school years, after reading about Michelangelo’s life in Irving Stone’s ”Agony and Ecstasy”. I also had a meeting with the sculptor Napoleon Tiron at his 1986 exhibition at the Sala Dalles and many other encounters after that. I collected various works (drawings, watercolors, etchings, bronze, wood and stone sculptures) from artists or their successors and some from auction houses in Bucharest. In 2024, at the Constantin Brâncuși National Museum in Targu Jiu, together with the artist Zuzu Caratănase, we opened an exhibition of works by Romanian and European sculptors, “Brâncuși’s Homage”. Most of the works from this section are exhibited here.
