Bijin-ga – Female Figures in Japanese Art

This exhibition was opened at the Constantin Brâncuși National Museum from 15.03.2025 to 07.05.2025 . It features original Japanese Bijin-ga (美人画, “pictures of beautiful women”) engravings from the collection of lawyer George Șerban. Curated by Anamaria Grigor and Anne-Marie Lolea, the exhibition explores one of the most beloved genres of ukiyo-e, representing portraits of the beauties of their time.

Organized in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Romania, the Brukenthal National Museum, and Șerban & Asociații, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the elegance and refinement of Japanese engraving.
